Fall Fashion on a Budget

It’s November 1st (as I’m writing this) and here in NY the Fall weather is finally starting to kick in! This time of year is always bitter sweet, and if you’re anything like me – I’m sure you’ll agree. Saying goodbye to Summer is never fun, but saying hello to fall fashion…now that’s something to get excited about! Sweaters, leather jackets, booties, scarves, I’m pretty sure the saying goes: “It’s the most wonderful time of the year!” And while it is indeed “the most wonderful time of the year” it isn’t always the most “cost effective” time of the year. So if you’re looking to update your wardrobe on a budget, then you’ve come to the right place! Keep reading for some tips on how to spruce up your Fall Fashion on a Budget!

Fall Fashion

Tip #1 – Be confident in your budget and style.

It’s so easy to compare yourself to people you see on social media. This is especially so with When it comes to fashion, makeup, looks, etc. those you follow on social media may seem like they have it all; that new Michael Kors bag, those fabulous Christian Louboutin booties, the list goes on. If you find yourself wishing you could afford to get your hands on those luxuries, as Taylor Swift would say, shake it off! Know what you can afford and stick with that. At the end of the day, you will be able to find exactly what you’re looking for, and even better… in your price range!

Tip #2 – Online shopping.

One main reason people have trouble shopping within their budget is because they just don’t know where to shop. While I love to shop in the stores to be able to try pieces on, sometimes the best deals are found online. I love visiting Boohoo.com, not only do they have something for everyone, including all the fall fashion trends, but they are super affordable! Another great thing about Boohoo is that they’re always running sales…and I mean always. So, before you run to the mall, definitely check them out!

Tip #3 – Always check the quality.

Forever21, H&M, and Garage are my other go-tos when I do take a trip to the mall and I’m not looking to spend a pretty penny. While they are pretty affordable (*hint hint* specially if you check at the sale racks) always be sure to check the quality of what you are purchasing. Is the fabric too thin or flimsy, how does it feel when you try it on, do the zippers work? These are all things to think about when making any purchase. At the end of the day, you don’t want to bring something home that you can only wear for a month!

Here are two recent purchases I made from Forever21:

Fall Fashion

This blush pink off the shoulder sweater was somewhere around $17.00. Not only is it super cute, but it’s soft, comfortable, and good quality!

Fall Fashion

This olive green faux leather jacket is by far my favorite piece of clothing (for now). It’s thick material makes it perfect for those cool fall days/nights.

And we can’t forget the detail!

I purchased this jacket for about $40.00 and can definitely see it lasting a while!

Pulling it all together!

After I made these affordable purchases, I was so excited to throw an outfit together and start shooting! And the best part is, I didn’t have to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars to put together this look!

Love this look and your tips are on point. Though, I will spend more for pieces that I feel are going to fit into my wardrobe forever (like jackets, boots, or jeans). I shop sales and discount for things like tees and leggings that are going to wear out no matter what brand I buy (I know because I’ve tried both ways). Anyway- great round up of tips and I love that olive jacket!! <3 Jamie

You definitely don’t need to break the budget to buy cute clothes. Although I definitely spend more on sweaters, jackets, jeans, bags and shoes since those are things I consider investment pieces. Great tips!
